於　横浜 三渓園 白雲邸

日本の伝統文化・芸術である茶道を、茶道愛好家はもちろん、外国からの参加者も総合的に味わうことができる体験的な茶会を開催します。
今年、2018年は明治維新から150年の節目になります。それを記念して「明治維新」所縁の美術品や工芸品を使いながら、「茶道」が西洋文化の奔流の中でどのようにその形を守り、変化させていったのかを追体験します。
外国人の方には着物の着付け（男・女）の後、立礼（椅子）席で茶の点前を通訳付きで実体験していただきます。道具名や茶道の基礎知識など日英語併記したパンフレットもご用意致します。

三渓園（国指定名勝）と白雲邸（横浜市指定有形文化財）

三渓園は横浜の実業家、原三溪が明治39年に造りあげた約5万3千坪の日
本庭園です。外苑と内苑からなり、京都・鎌倉などから集められた塔、茶室、楼閣など１７棟の歴史的建造物と自然が調和した景観が見どころです。
三溪が明治・大正・昭和を通じて芸術や文学者などの文化人と広く交流、支援したことから、ここは茶の湯、美術・文学など近代日本文化を育む場となりました。
数奇屋風建築の白雲邸は三溪が隠居所として夫人とともに暮らすため、大正７年に建てられたものです。

First-hand Experience of Chado, the Way of Tea
Autumnal Breeze Tea Gathering
~ Commemorating the 150th Anniversary of the Meiji Restoration ~
Haku-untei @ Sankeien Garden, Yokohama

Join us for a hands-on introduction to Chado, the Way of Tea, an integral part of Japan’s traditional arts and culture. Regardless of how familiar you are with Chado, the experience is bound to prove an enlightening one.
2018 marks the 150th anniversary of the 1868 Meiji Restoration, the beginning of Japan’s road to modernization. To commemorate this epoch-making event and reflect on how Chado has managed to withstand the wave of Westernization and evolve with the times, the tea gathering will feature utensils and artwork relevant to the Meiji Restoration.
Non-Japanese participants will be given the opportunity to be dressed in a kimono and learn how to prepare tea in the ryurei-style seated in chairs with the aid of an English interpreter. An introductory pamphlet to Chado with a glossary of basic terms in Japanese and English will also be provided.

Sankeien Garden (Place of National Scenic Beauty) and
Haku-untei (A Tangible Cultural Property designated by Yokohama City)

Sankeien, with an area of around 175,000㎡ was established in 1906 by prominent Yokohama businessman, Sankei Hara. Comprised of the outer and inner gardens, Sankeien’s beautiful scenery reflects the ever-changing seasons and is in perfect harmony with the 17 historic architectural properties, including a pagoda, several tea houses, and villas relocated from Kyoto, Kamakura and other parts of Japan.
Sankei had close ties to leading cultural figures of the day, and a large part of Sankeien’s purpose was to serve as a place to foster the arts.
Built in 1918 as a retirement villa for Sankei and his wife, Haku-untei is an exquisite example of the Sukiya-style of Japanese architecture based on the aesthetic of naturalness and rustic simplicity and intended to harmonize with their surroundings.
